How do Vegetarians and Vegans build muscle? (My Top plant-based protein choices)

As a vegetarian living in Australia I have no issue when it comes to my protein intake. I don't eat eggs or take whey protein powder either. Although i would not class myself as a vegan at this stage (as some foods I eat may contain some diary - such as Quorn), my protein sources are plant based.

I have listed below for your information my top selections - even if your not vegetarian or vegan you could try these to add some variety to your routine. 

  • Plant based protein powders 

These days the variety and taste is much better. I like 'Plant Fusion' and 'Prana On' at the moment. Really tasty and easy on the stomach. A must before and after training. You definitely don't need whey protein powder.

  • Soy protein powder
  • Tofu
  • Quorn/Mycoprotein (vegetarian - as contains some egg whites)
  • Veggie Sausages
  • Tofurky
  • Almonds
  • Cashews
  • Peanuts
  • Chia seeds
