Hello everyone!

I am new to this site. I have been a vegetarian for over a year now. I am currently in college and am a commuter student and I would like your help! It has been very hard finding veterinarian lunch recipes that are fast, and veeery cheap to make that I can take with me. My family do not fully support me so the options for me are a little scarce, however we have a bunch of canned fruit and vegetables such as corn, peas, green beans, carrots. Can any of you suggest any recipes pleeease?

Thank you so much and very nice meeting you all.

hey, when i was at uni, one of the first things i could make was a tomato pasta sauce with canned tomato, infact if you can get a good tomato base nailed, you can make some pretty neat dishes (in with canned chickpeas, kidney beans  etc), i can mail you a good recipe, if you want, It's cheap, easy and quite tasty :)

This is about the easiest recipe to make and pack:

1 can chick peas, 1/4 cup teriyaki sauce, 2 cups cooked brown rice, 1 tablespoon sugar, 1 tablespoon Szechaun or hot sauce if you like

In a large frying pan, mix everything (except the rice) and let the chick peas marinate for about 5 minutes. Then cook the chick pea mixture for about 10 minutes on medium, stirring regularly (all the sauce will be absorbed). Just put add it to the rice and top with peach/mango/pineapple salsa.
