What I Say When Asked Why I Became a Vegetarian

The question posed to me today was why I chose to become a vegetarian (technically a pescetarian at this time as I on a rare occasion I will have fish). First, I want to say that I do not judge anyone for eating meat as I ate it for my entire life with the exception of the last year. What I do say to people who ask me why I changed is that I stopped being a meat eater to be healthier. Meat is very hard on the body to digest and of course one has to be very careful about avoiding hormones,…

Inspirational post to myself, when people get me down.

Sometimes it's incredibly hard to see those around you that you love exploiting and abusing animals in ways that you know are wrong, and when you try to teach them a better way they just ignore you or try and turn the tables on you. It's hard living in judgement sometimes for doing the better thing, when you know in your heart that you are doing the right thing. Don't give up, keep fighting and remember …

Vegetarian for Our Earth – Eating Meat Contributes to Air and Water Pollution

Feces runoff from factory farms often pollute local groundwater.

Factory farms produce run-off that pollutes our streams and rivers, endangering not only the water supply for humans but also harming delicate eco-systems.

A U.S. Senate Agricultural Committee report concluded, "The threat of pollution from intensive livestock and poultry farms is a national problem." [1]

According to the EPA, over 200…

Vegan for Our Earth – Eating Meat Contributes to Global Warming

Through the process of digestion, livestock emit 16% of the world's annual production of methane gas.[6]

A groundbreaking 2006 United Nations report found that raising animals for food generates more greenhouse gases than all the cars and trucks in the world combined [1].

Luckily, we can help fix this problem by changing our diet.

According to a 2006 study done by researchers at the University of…

Vegetarians vs. Vegans

It's still baffling to me that I come across vegans that believe that they are way better than vegetarians. Even though I live in NYC, and there's a large group of us here, I don't really hang out with a lot of veg*ns anymore.

Now, I was apart of the myspace veg scene and I came across this a lot. It bothered me and I usually stood up for the vegetarians that were being picked on. My point of view has still stayed the same from all of those years ago. I see it like this; in a perfect…

Help crack canada's rotten egg industry!

This is the worst movie I have ever seen, I could not watch more than a few seconds without being sick. How can people eat Mc.donals or any other meat at all? And how do meat-eaters still walk around with good conciense? It's so hard to make them believe what is actually going on in the slaughter house. They simply don't want to, because '"they can't survive without their meat and it's too good to quit eating…
