If cows were to use their strength against people like the mighty rhino, we wouldn’t be hanging them upside down and cutting their throats. If pigs used aggression with sledgehammer mouths like the great hippo, we’d leave them alone. If chickens were feathery Swiss Army knives like the falcon, we wouldn’t be tossing them into cages by the billions. It is only because they are kind, gentle and trusting in us, that we partake in these malicious acts of violence against them. What does that say about us?
