New lacto-ovo veggie!

Hey I'm new to this and I would love some support & advice as I don't really know anyone who can help or understand. I brought loads of food yesterday including Quorn, fruit, veg, vitamins, nuts, soya milk and a few other bits (it's my profile picture). Am I missing anything? I'm feeling constantly hungry and weak :( I know it'll take time but it's proving hard. Any tips on what to eat to keep up energy? Thanks!

Hello Katrina, 

What do you mean by new ? How long have you turned veg ? Cause I don't see any reason  why you should be weak and tired…. Actually most of time it's the opposite…when people stop eating animal products they feel really full of energy. you can't lack anything as long as you eat a large variety of fruits, vegetables,  cereals, nuts, seeds, beans….

Are you sure you eat enough ?

You're simply short of fats and carbohydrates which you previously absorbed from your meat dishes. Carbs and fats are the elements that turn into energy.

Carbs shortage can be filled up with cereals, potatoes, breads,  raisins, dried fruits,and even the better one - whole meals, brown rice, organic oat, honey, brown sugar, ... Veggie fats can be obtained from almond nuts, peanuts, sesame, sunflower seeds, olive, avocado etc and any sort of veggie oils.

These healthy sort of carbs and fats really make us vegans super-active and feeling refreshed all the time.
