Hi... I practice meditation sometimes. When I can't sleep, I practice meditation and it does help a lot.
I love Yoga! It makes me feel so relaxed and peaceful. It also helps to clear my mind when I'm stressed out. I recommend it to everybody! :)
I would like to find more motivation and regularity to practice Yoga and meditation...Would you have any advices ...?...
Patrick (from France)
Patrick, I would maybe suggest, but not advise you, that you could either find a teacher or join a group or even by your own self, establish a very simple routine of exercises which you can manage in your own home. Usually Surya Namaskar qualifies as a basic and very good practice for both beginners and advanced because it contains basic movements of yoga such as forward and backward bending and twisting. I would also suggest you just do some regular pre-asanas which can be used as warm up exercises before more advanced asanas but could also serve as a yoga practice in it of itself. I will try to post some content on this also.
Dear FruitFly, Thank you for your kind message and offer I receive as a gift. I understood it is good to practice everyday a small routine with some warm up, but is just 5 minutes enough to appreciate any effect after a while, or is it good enough just to build the habit and the need...?... I looked at Surya Namaskar (the salutation to the Sun) because it sounds almost like Namaskaram which is Namaste in Malayam language from South of India in Kerala... and I have done this "drill" a few times, but it is the habit that I don't have, the regularity, and maybe I could start everyday, I suppose after morning meditation and before breakfast... What I was wondering was if it existed any special tricks to enhanced the motivation for practicing... I would be happy to read your future posts...
Patrick, I hear you. One nice motivation is to desire to make the mind happy. Asanas work on the muscles of the body which help to control the inner winds of our body which help to control the mind which can help ease our suffering if controlled. So this kind of motivation to be happy can also be one of wanting others to be happy and free from suffering and its causes if one wanted to extend oneself so far as to wish well to others. Otherwise, just maintaining oneself is a pretty big and healthy challenge. As far as just 5 minutes a day...I would say yes, that any bit counts. Why not just practice observance of the breath for 5 minutes for instance, or some warm up exericises to limber the body. I will post some more a bit later about warm up exercies which may be considered pre-asanas and also some more about motivation to do yoga in a more mental sense. Thanks for the discussion.
Thankyou for allowing me to join this forum..................I have to say outright that i won't be engaging in yoga because i physically don't feel able to do it.
I am very interested in the meditation........................this is something i have been doing for some years now.................I was appreciative in particular of the comments made by Jenii and the content added for access to music.

I've done yoga only this autumn so I have a lot to learn. I'm really enjoying it and I do a little yoga routine every morning and every evening, so it's part of my regular life already.
Yoga is surely making me happier, hope it works the same way for everyone. :)
