I've been to Thailand a few years a go. And that was a veggie/vegan heaven! Everywhere we came they already knew I was a vegetarian. (we told our travel agency, who told the restaurants/local people where we visited etc.) Everything was completely vegan, that was an amazing experience! One time we visited a restaurant in the hotel. They weren't informed.. so they just gave me the menu card. There were no veggie/vegan menus, that was a kind of disappointing to me. I asked the waiter if they had anything veggie/vegan served in the restaurant. And if they do! OMG he came up with another menu card, way bigger than the other one! Full of veggie/vegan menus!! I was flabbergasted!
But.. this was an arranged trip, we didn't go out by our selves, so I haven't experienced how it go's out there.
That sounds amazing that they had already pre prepared this for you!! But from what my partners nanna and grandad who have traveled throughout Thailand quite a lot is that you have to be careful when you eat vegetarian there. As sometimes animal bones are used to make stock whether its vegetarian or not. So be careful peeps :)
i would love visit thailand and australia, new zeland especially..i have only been travelling in europe and spain..
the most beautiful place i have been is Menorca (balerian islands). you know, white sand, clear water and trees around the beaches.
i have been touring UK and Europe with Further seems forever when i was booking agent...
i like to travel to see the places and enjoy good shows.meet new people and learn for other cultures..!!!
Actually I'm going to London in March so that would be helpful for me. Inspiral is the only place I've been to and I wasn't impressed.
@ Trevor: What are some good cheap/free things to do in London?
great group!
don't you know it :)
I've always travelled for the food. Being a Vegetarian was challenging.... being a vegan can be ridiculous! Spent the Summer in Iceland.... had to bring almost all of my food. Maybe I'll go easy on myself and go somewhere Vegan Friendly next... like Thailand. Mmmmmm.
Taiwan is also a convenient place for vegetarians although I've never been to another country out of Taiwan. Welcome to Taiwan : )
