Would love to grow my own but have heard stories of parasites in veggies which can be very bad for you.

I do recycle my clothes at thrifty marts/garage sales except under ware....

I grow ,Zucchini ,tomatoes ,lettuce,Kale ,and so much more . All Organic . It's a challenge when it comes to the insects that want a taste of the yummy's food too BUT I have learned to use the beneficial insects to my advantage . I have a mulch bin, and I recycle everything in my home that I can . I try very hard to buy organic clothing, BUT I haven't managed to find a site that is reasonable yet =/ .. Progress thou

Rosa, what parasites are these? as long as you wash your food, or cook it, all parasites should be removed/killed.

Second hand clothing could well be the best form of organic clothing UTE!

I was able to meet Vandana Shive while she was in Kathmandu for a lecture. It was great.

It is interesting and useful to see what these people had to say about sustainability and (vegan) organic farming in 1976!;
One example - Kathleen Jannaway shows ( starting about 15m 45s after the start of the film ) how she produces food crops with good yields using plant compost only - no artificial fertilisers,no animal manures, which both have serious disadvantages some of which she explains.
