Support the inclusion of "species" into the NASW Code of Ethics

The National Association of Social Workers (NASW) is the largest membership organization of professional social workers in the world.  As members, we abide by the NASW Code of Ethics -- a set of ethical principles that guides the social work profession.

I am the Media & Public Outreach Director of Social Workers for Animals (SWA).  SWA is a Canadian Registered Charity (#84740 2708 RR0001) dedicated to creating public awareness about animal issues, preventing the abuse and killing of animals, and forming effective relationships between humans and animals using social work ethics and values.

I have started an online petition requesting that the NASW includes the word "species" within the code of ethics.

I ask that you would sign this petition, share it, and post about it on Facebook.  You do not have to be a member of the NASW or a social worker to sign.

Thank You,

Anthony Pennington, BSW, MSW(c), MBA(c)
